AI transformation is now a board-level decision for clean-energy organisations — and it's failing for organisational reasons, not technical ones.

MIT research found 95% of enterprise GenAI pilots deliver no measurable return — not because the models are bad, but because of adoption gaps, workflow mismatches, and outcomes nobody defined upfront. I hold the business case, the organisational change, and the production code in one head, so that gap doesn't open up.

MIT NANDA, The GenAI Divide (2025)

Business logic designed with your leaders — not handed down from a platform vendor
Full source code ownership, deployed on your infrastructure — zero vendor lock-in across renewables, storage, and grid-edge operations
Direct access to the engineer who built it — design, training, and deployment in one relationship, not three separate vendors

The Triad

AI transformation needs all three, in one head

Business operations, organisational transformation, and technology. Most consultants bring one. I bring all three.

Business operations

Director and part-owner of a power electronics company since 1994, running an ERP platform since 1996, doubling a company's highest-ever annual sales at Magellan. I understand how a business actually runs, not just how to ship code into one.

Organisational transformation

A Cert IV qualified trainer who wrote and delivered UPS and battery training to 42 ABB business units worldwide. Adoption succeeds when the people using a system are trained and incentivised for it — not when a platform is mandated from the top.

Technology — the minor part

Production AI systems, self-hosted since 2024. OpenAI's own State of Enterprise AI report (2025) says it plainly: the constraint on enterprise AI is no longer model performance — it's organisational readiness. Technology proves the strategy; it doesn't replace it, and it's the smallest lever for the outcome.

How I work

Mechanism design over code. I design the incentives and workflow with your leaders first, then build the system underneath it.

Data Sovereignty

Data sovereignty by default

On-prem, VPC, or air-gapped. Your compliance team signs off, not mine.

Source Code Ownership

You own the code

Full source access with support tiers available. Walk away any time — or stay because it works.

Business-Led Prototyping

Mechanism design, not automation

Your leaders define the logic — a connection-application queue, a tariff rule, a supplier scorecard — and I build it to production. Automate a broken incentive and it just gets gamed faster; I design the mechanism first, then the code underneath it.

Long-Term Relationship

Trusted advisor, not vendor

I use your operational data to advise on supplier and asset health, not just to ship a tool. Battery-supplier quality assurance built from discharge-test data is real work I've delivered — the same discipline behind the live demo above.

Reference Projects

Engineering Heritage

Before AI, I built power systems for the world's most demanding environments. This experience shapes everything I create.

LNG2012–2016

Asia Pacific LNG (APLNG)

I specified 192 lithium (LiFePO4) 48VDC systems with BMS for APLNG, including thermal modelling for high-temperature cabinet environments.

LNG2012–2016

ExxonMobil Longford Gas Conditioning Plant

I led DC/AC UPS engineering for Zone 1 hazardous-area switch-rooms on the Kipper Tuna Turrum gas-conditioning plant — explosion-proof design review, Ex-rated equipment selection, FAT witnessing.

Utilities2012–2016

ABB Global Project Execution Team

I was ABB's sole DC/AC UPS Systems Specialist — responsible for every standby power design across ABB's worldwide project wins. Battery qualification across VRLA, LiFePO4 and NiCd; BMS and thermal verification.

Off-Grid2018–2019

UNEP Stockholm Convention — Cook Islands & Kiribati

I delivered UNEP-funded consulting and training for two Pacific Island environment ministries on Stockholm Convention NIPs — POPs management, renewable energy programme reporting, on-island training.

Airservices Australia — Airport Radar Standby Power

I engineered ICAO safety-critical standby DC power for landing radar across Australian airports, and trained 30 field-service engineers on LiFePO4 — no-fail infrastructure, documented down to the cell.

Powerbox Australia — Hybrid Power Systems Design and Build Business Unit

I established a new hybrid power business unit, built the IEEE 485 cloud sizing tool, and delivered prompt engineering training to the team. Strategy, coaching, tooling, O&M manuals — full zero-to-one stand-up.
